Position Description:
Working as a Senior Technical Architect (STA), you will be responsible for developing JEE based IT solutions to complex business problems. To be successful, you must be proficient at the techniques that go into the formulation of the architectures, including:
- requirements discovery and analysis
- application of abstraction
- formulation of solution context
- solution alternatives identification and assessment
- technology selection
- architectural configuration
Strong initiative and communication skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships are keys to success; you must know how to mediate opposing viewpoints and negotiate equitable solutions to ensure successful and stable outcomes. You will use your practical skills and experience across many application and infrastructure (operational) products, technologies, and services.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze a customers business and IT challenges and design a comprehensive solution that integrates smoothly into the customers environment
- Responsible to carefully check for reliability, availability, and scalability
- Proficient in the use of modeling techniques - such as use case, scenario modeling, prototyping, benchmarking, and performance modeling - to describe the problem space, to size the solution and to validate that the proposed architecture addresses the business requirements
- Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate standards in the creation and implementation of the solution whenever project requirements call for or would benefit from the use of standards
- Project management, change management, operations management and financial analysis are integral parts of most assignments
- Lead architectural engagements in promoting the cause of technology, and of specific technologies, in order to achieve buy-in from the enterprises management and IT communities, seeking to create new opportunities and business relationships
- Required to maintain a baseline of IT industry knowledge to advise on technical trends and techniques and apply them to the development of solution design
